Purrfectly Ever After – demo review

Purrfectly Ever After is an upcoming otome visual novel with Japanese voice-acting, available in both Japanese and English with wonderful graphics! Previously planned for a smartphone and tablet release, Weev announced a PC version on Steam!

Support them at Kickstarter and help upvote it on Steam Greenlight!

The demo is promising. Looking closely at the background and graphics, they have put a lot of work into it and I always appreciate beautiful backgrounds. They are pretty important to set up the atmosphere!

The premise is solid and interesting but the writing needed extra work so they welcomed a writer on board! I’m really impressed that they were quick on rectifying it. I’m really hoping that it’ll be fully funded so we can see how it went!

At the end of my first playthrough, I noticed that it didn’t have a save-load function which meant that I have to start over for different choices. The characters’ facial expressions and sound effects weren’t present, it felt awkward. But these will be remedied in the final release. Sue Anne addressed them here.

Listening to the voices, it’s really good! I’m eyeing Sirius and Cassian because Sirius – voice and I can’t resist the cool, haughty type and Cassian’s story piqued my interest. What is up with that guy and how did he manage to gain so much influence? I’m just jumping with excitement at the thought of it. There are also character interviews that you can listen here and here.

On top of the smartphone and tablet release, Weev announced a PC release and it’s currently on Steam Greenlight. If you like visual novels, be sure to check it out!

If you haven’t, give the game a try by registering for their iOS demo on Testflight. Purrfectly Ever After also could use your support at Thunderclap.

My earlier post of the game can be found here!

Purrfectly Ever After – first impressions

Purrfectly Ever After is an upcoming otome visual novel (romance simulation game) planned for iOS and Android. The story goes like this,

Pastel (name changeable) is a cat who loves good food but has to steal them for a living. So when she got into a string of troubles, she starts feeling sorry about herself until she encounter kind strangers who came to her aid.

She then wished she could become a human so she can earn an honest living and her wish was heard by a fairy godfather she never knew of and so Pastel’s story begins…

It will be available in English, Japanese and Chinese (text language is interchangeable) complete with Japanese voice-acting! There will be five romance-able characters and one more if the project’s first stretch goal is met. All five routes put together will have over 40 hours of gameplay and character routes are released separately.

Each character’s main story will cost USD3.99 while the epilogue package containing stories related to the Romance and Destiny endings cost USD1.99.

On top of that, it will have original music! From the samples, they sound really lovely! The prospect of having a completely voiced game with background music is really exciting(*´▽`*) I haven’t come across a lot of mobile/smartphone (otome) games that comes with their own (original) BGM except for Princess Closet and Drug Prince and Narcotic Girl.

[update: Kickstarter page is here!]

The PV got me really really excited. The story sounds brilliant and the cast, wonderful. The game’s background are amazingly detailed which I would be raving of if the project gets funded.

I love how there’s an option to switch languages (I can put the other two languages into practice lol) because as much as I love Japanese otome apps getting localised, I didn’t like the fact that one update can sometimes change everything into English (I prefer Japanese) so I gave up using them /ω\

Pastel, the protagonist sounds very feisty and positive-minded. And we share the same love for good food~ ♡(*´∀`*)人(*´∀`*)♡
I really like such protagonists, they make me feel the same about life (´ ▽`).。o♡

All in all, the characters and story looks very promising that I can’t wait to get to know them! (*^ω^*)

Purrfectly Ever After sounds like a gem in the making so let’s give it a chance when their Kickstarter campaign goes live! You can read more at Weev’s Prefundia page here.
